Frequently Asked Questions
Adding wheels to your BrickWheelers parts is simple once you know how to do it. Most BrickWheelers parts come in 2 sizes – Narrow and Wide. The first thing to do is measure the axle width of your wheels. Axle width is measured as the open distance between the wheels. Axles with a width of 15mm is considered “narrow”. Axles with a width of 17mm or more are considered “wide”.
When adding the wheels, start with inserting one end of the axle into the slot and then the other side. You should hear or feel a slight pop or snap when the axle is correctly seated into the axle channel. The wheels should spin freely if the axle width is correct and properly seated in the axle channel.
Check out the videos in the How It Works section to see some installation examples.

We will investigate shifting production of BrickWheelers parts to a faster injection molding system when the demand increases and the benefits outweigh the increased costs.
Yes, they can! BrickWheelers parts are made of ABS-like resin from a 3D printer. That resin has similar properties as plastic and can easily be painted. Before painting, clean the part with isopropyl alcohol to remove any residue and fingerprints.
We recommend painting the parts with acrylic paint, but you can also use lacquer and enamel paints if you apply a primer base coat first. Applying a primer paint first will ensure the paint has the best bonding adhesion to the resin part.
Yes, at some point in the future as the demand and volume grow. For now, our parts are only printed using gray 3D resin. This allows faster production and provides you flexibility to paint the part anything you desire, see our FAQ for details on painting BrickWheelers parts.
